to say that i am excited about our new neighbors is
completely & utterly an understatement.
my cousin & her new hubby moved in two blocks away.
& it makes me happier than words can say.
katie. my cousin. is one year older than i.
and we have grown up as besties & practically sisters.
to have her just a hop. a skip. & a jump away is so thrilling.
yipppeeeeee.
i thought it would be fun to welcome her to the neighborhood
with a dinner party including 4 sets of our neighbors.
& since she has. hands down. the best block of new friends . . .
it ended up being a great fun night.
it was a country chic dinner party.
a little bit country. & a whole lotta chic.
let me share with you how to make a beautiful country chic table.
welcome katie & zach.
i decided to go with a black & white checked theme.
using accents of lime green. & bunches of blooms.
the black & white check really brings the country BBQ element.
while the lime green brings in a bit of elegance a la mackenzie-childs.
of course. whenever i am in need of table decor. or home decor.
i always head to beach papery & gifts.
a few buys from the shop & you are sure to have a beautiful tablescape.
everything from the centerpiece. to the napkins. to some of the vases.
were purchased at beach papery & gifts
this little mason jar was placed at each place setting.
the jar served as their drinking glass.
& inside they had their napkins and utensils.
the table was sprinkled with back & white checked vases of hydrangeas.
and crystal vases tied with bows.
place cards were printed on kraft paper.
courtesy of beach papery & gifts.
{that is also where i go for all of my printing needs}
simple white plates stand out when using a great placemat like these.
don't you love this color scheme?!
it is just so classic.
i was so tickled with how the table turned out.
i really had a ball setting up for the party.
because it was a country chic dinner party. we were serving bbq inspired food.
pulled pork sandwiches. coleslaw. cheesey scalloped potatoes. summer salad.
and the best chocolate chip bundt cake ever.
it was all so delicious.
i wanted the centerpiece to reflect the theme of the dinner
& so i was over the moon when i found this twig pig.
after deciding on this little piggie.
this little girlie went to the market to get some apples.
{then i went wee wee wee all the way home}
i used about 18 green apples to fill the pig.
it turned out even cuter than i had hoped.
i just love using real food. herbs. greenery. to decorate a table.
it is just so organic. and earthy.
i really adore hoe the lime green apples highlighted
the lime green trim on the napkins.
so cute. right?!
this is absolutely a tablescape that is easily replicated.
something that essentially anyone can do with minimal effort.
& i seemed to get great compliments from all the guests.
{well. all the girl guests. not sure the guys really appreciate this kinda thing}
i encourage you to take a stroll through beach papery & gifts.
you will be totally inspired by all of the darling decor items.
{if you are not local. but you see something you love. give them a call. they are more than happy to place orders. ship. giftwrap. and the like. 727.822.8951}
welcome to the neighborhood. katie & zach.
i am so thrilled to be so close.
