C'est si bon

a simple brunch.

i love playing the hostess.

to me. it is so fun to decorate a beautiful table.

cook delicious eats. & welcome loved ones into my home.

it brings me great joy.

this year for mother's day.

i was delighted to invite my in-laws over for a simple brunch.

it was just the four of us. and baby patrick. too.

it was sweet. it was intimate. it was very special.

yogourt parfaits are such a simple starter for a brunch.

it is easy to create a beautiful presentation with minimal effort.

i used vintage champagne glasses to hold a few bites of vanilla yogurt.

then topped it off with a sprinkle of granola. berries. & a mint leaf.

bright pink blooms just scream happy mother's day!

a very simple. yet punchy. centerpiece for a simple celebration.

i was so thrilled to bring out my wedding silver for this special brunch.

sterling silver is always the icing on the cake when playing hostess.

for my tablescape. i kept it very clean & light.

just three vases of flowers. two crystal candle holders.

& beautiful place settings of gold & white.

simplicity at its finest.

i truly pieced together items that i already owned to create this look.

white dishes from pottery barn. gold plates from pier one.

vintage butter dishes & champagne glasses.

& that is the fun part. pulling pieces together to create different looks.

orange juice always adds a zesty punch of color to a brunch table.

not to mention. its terribly delicious to sip on.

pick a few divine dishes to whip up . . .

and you have yourself a simple. beautiful. wonderful. brunch.

our menu was a dynamite bacon. spinach. gruyere quiche.

blueberry cobbler crumb cake. & fresh minted strawberries.

it turned out just delicious if i do say so myself.

a black door.

in my opinion . . .

a lacquered black door is the epitome of chic.

i have always loved the look of a super shiny. super high glossed black door.

it is sharp. it is bold. it is elegant. it is perfect.

as of today. our front door is now lacquered. black. & shiny.

can hardly wait to get our brass lions head door knocker polished up.

it is going to look so lovely.

i have laid my eyes upon the most lovely little collection of dresses.

pinks & golds. ruffles & scallops. high collars & low backs.

the darling camilyn beth knows how to design dresses to the max.

i am not sure how it has taken me this long to discover her.

but i am certainly tickled that i now have.

she instantly became on of my all time faves.

i mean. seriously. have you ever seen such darling dresses?

this is just one of several styles. but it is hands down my fave.

i simply adore it.

i can hardly wait to get my very own camilyn beth dress.

so sugary sweet with an abundance of feminine elegance.

it feels so great to finally have shaken this flu bug that invaded our house.

my lovie. my little lump of love. and myself have all been down & out the past week.

thank goodness for new found energy. easy breathing. & no more tissues.

we are finally back in the swing of things.

happily singing au revoir to that pesky little bug.

to celebrate . . .

we headed over to one of our fave little parks.

no better way to celebrate than with a splash fountain & a swing.

we love a great big playground.

cause we really love to play all day. every day.

yippeee!

the ending of one life chapter. and the beginning of the next.

a quiet monday.

what a whirlwind of a wonderful week.

between family in town. birthday parties. lunch dates. & easter . . .

our life has been busy. busy. busy. this past week.

naturally. i have totally embraced this quiet & restful monday.

sleepy snuggles in bed. lullabies on repeat all day.

dinner simmering on the stovetop. & a long nap for the babe.

there is nothing more peaceful.

i love when the house is especially quiet like this.

it is one of my favorite things in all the world.

my babe quietly playing on the floor.

nothing to be heard but babbles. soft music. & creaking wood floors.

i may or may not stay holed up in this quiet house for the entire day.

but with this precious baby all to myself . . . can you really blame me?
