tot tupperware town.

i am always looking for activities that will
encourage independent & imaginative play.

not only does it give mommy a few minutes to herself.
but it also is so beneficial in stimulating creativity
& setting the stage for make believe play.

one of patrick's {and mommys} favorite activities is our
tot tupperware town.

i simply bought an extra large tupperware & lid.
and then filled it with sand. rocks. pebbles. sticks.
that is the foundation for this activity.

every week or so i rotate out little towns for patrick to play with.
sometimes it is construction town. sometimes its dinosaur town.
sometimes its jungle town. and so on.

i had all of our towns out today to take pictures.
and somehow {haha} they ended up all in the bin together.
so for today. we have a construction town that is being invaded by dinosaurs.
so totally awesome.

i love sitting to the side & observing patrick play.
it is so neat to watch his imagination soar.

bulldozers push through the sand.
monster dump trucks get filled with rocks.

mama giraffes walk the sand dunes
with their baby giraffes close behind.

broccoli-sauraus {brachiosaurus} eat the sticks.
while t rex jumps over big boulders.

& sometimes patrick really gets into it.
literally.

it is his own personal sandbox safari.

what is really great about this activity is the portability.
we keep this tupperware in our garage. it is easy to pull out whenever we want.

& because of the lid. it is easy to pack in the trunk to take on-the-go.
to grandmas. to a friends house. to the park.

we really love it. & we truly use it several times a week.
the possibilities are endless. & so are the hours of fun to be had.

so mamas. grandmas. aunts . . .
go snag a tupperware & create some fun for your little tots.

oh. and i also like the idea of getting several small tupperware boxes to create mini towns.
that way instead of switching out the towns every week
you could just leave them in their own personal bin.

just another reason to love tupperware.

inchbug love.

are you a label lover like i am?

i get such joy out of neatly labeling all of my kiddos belongings.
sippy cups. bottles. shoes. snack packs. tote bags.
you name it. it is labeled.

not only is labeling functional.
after all. epic meltdowns have been spurred from a misplaced sippy cup.
and lord knows that every two year old needs to stake their claim on their snacks.

but it is also super cute.
that is. when you find super darling labels
like those from inch bug.

i am especially loving their line of non-adhesive reusable orbit labels.
they are personalized. they stretch to fit your kiddos ever-changing cups.
they are dishwasher safe. they will never peel or fade.
and they are just too stinkin cute.

from bottles. to sippy cups. to snack containers.
they fit them all.
they are just brilliant.

inch bug has also created an assortment of adhesive labels
that are cute to boot and totally essential.

with the rise in kiddo allergies.
the fear of your child getting his paws on something he shouldn't
can be crippling for a mama as she is sending her baby out of her care.

these adhesive allergy labels are perfect.
they are great to go on lunch boxes. snack packs.
or even to be worn on your kiddos shirt.

a great alert & reminder for teachers or caretakers.

oh. how wonderful are these shoe labels.
a lost little shoe can be just as sad as a lost sippy cup.
{maybe more so for the mama than for the kiddo}

these little shoe labels are darling.
an added bonus is that they help to teach your kiddo
the difference between left & right
and how to put shoes on the correct little footie.

i am just loving all of my labels.
and thankful to inchbug for making my life
a tiny bit easier & more organized.

inch bug has another product that i cannot say enough great things about.

{c'est si bon was not compensated for this post. i was given  product to review. all opinions are my own}

garance for rifle paper.

i cannot even begin to tell you how thrilled i am about this collaboration.
two of my faves. partnering up together. to make fab paper goods.
garance dore for rifle paper company is sheer brilliance.

you may remember this past post.
when garance & kate spade partnered up together.
it was beyond fantastic . . . so i have no doubt this new mix up
will be equally as wonderful.

i mean. it just simply cannot get better than
paper goods. black & white. with a dash of frenchie chic.

counting down the minutes till i get my hands on these goodies!
c'est si bon. indeedie.

life planner perfection.

eeeek!
i have been waiting rather impatiently for the last two weeks.
checking my front steps multiple times a day.
wishing & hoping & willing for this special package to arrive.
 . . . and it finally did.
yippee!

this might seem like a silly thing to get excited about.
but it seriously makes me oh so happy.

i have to admit.
i am old school when it comes to technology.
i am not super technologically advanced.
nor would i call myself tech savvy.
{and i kind of like it that way}

one thing in particular that i just cannot wrap my mind around
is using that terrible calendar on my iphone.

ugh.
i happen to really dislike it.

i fancy something tangible. something i can write on.
something that shows me the whole month in one glance.
without having to push buttons or navigate around.
i like to have a real. flip the pages. day planner.

ladies. allow me to introduce to you the ultimate day planner.
the one & only erin condren life planner.

how impossibly adorable? terribly darling? & downright precious is that?!
sweet baby patrick's chubby little face on the front of my day planner.

completely personalized in the cutest colored letters.

& matching colored tabs.

with polka dots & stripes.
i mean. did this erin chick design these with me in mind?!

love the two page spread that shows the year at a glance.
so necessary. so appreciated.

& how fun are these little stickers?!
colored stick-ons for various occasions.
like very first birthdays . . .

and doctors appointments.
and basically anything else you might want a sticker for.

there are bow ties. and inspiring words on nearly every page.
{this one being my favorite}

loving the rows & rows of color!

& days broken down into
morning. day. and night.
brilliant.

i honestly cannot get enough of these stripes.
they just scream let's have fun!

the next few years even get a shout out in this planner.
yahoo! perfect for planning out those family vacays.

& an entire page dedicated to my important numbers.
{i may or may not even know my lovies number by heart}

& rest assured. this ain't no flimsy little planner.
this binding is ultra sturdy. & the pages turn beautifully.

a ruler bookmark to provide easy "flip & find" days.

and quite possibly the little deet that knocks this out of the park . . .
the ribbon that holds it all together.
it comes with three color choices.
& can double as a headband.
b.r.i.l.l.i.a.n.t.

if there ever were to be an example of planner perfection . . .
i am quite certain that erin condren would take the cake.

stay tuned for more erin condren goodies & a giveaway!

an organized closet.

in my humble opinion . . .
a well organized closet is a closet worth coveting.
it is just so refreshing to open the door to a well organized space.
whether it is a clothing closet. a cleaning supply closet. or a craft closet.
having a home for all your belongings just feels good.

that being said.
i am not the most organized girl on the block.
this wannabe closet snob is. in fact.
a big ol' closet slob.
sure. i can keep a fantastically clean house to boot . . .
but there is just no telling what is behind those closet doors.

i have decided that it is my goal to tackle one closet at a time.
making each one organized. systematic. & clutter free.
as of now. i am one down. 7 to go.

allow me to show you exhibit a.
our organized laundry closet & household command station.

this little closet turned out so stinkin cute.
i just adore it.
plus it makes life so much easier.

all i did was make a list of my most used & most needed house supplies.
measured out the shelves. found baskets i loved.
printed cute little labels. tied a little ribbon on top.
hot glued the label to the baskets.
placed the baskets in their designated space.
and voila!

we buy our diaps in bulk. so this holds tons. that way we never run out.

i keep extra bibs. burp clothes. blankies. rattles. & what not here.

all laundry soaps & dryer sheets find a home in this little basket.

the perfect basket to hold all of our throw away pieces.

i make sure that i have several different sizes of batteries.
you just never know when you will need some.
same is true for lightbulbs.
i try to keep extras in the house all the time.

i have to admit. i am kind of a dish soap junkie.
i love trying new fancy dish soaps.
my fave to date: the entire caldrea line.

this is where we keep all of our old grocery bags. so necessary.

these are just the baskets we chose to start with . . . i am sure we will add more.
i just love having this central command station. i know exactly where to find things now.
all it takes a little bit of initial effort & then some easy maintenance.

now off to organize my clothes by color . . .
